SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and it was very different in the year 2000 than it is today. So many changes have been observed in these 20 years. At that time, there were not so many rules and outcomes weren’t always admirable. But, in these 20 years, the process has been refined now due to the greater expectations.

Nowadays, for choosing our keywords, keyword research is an important step. It makes us aware of the queries which are taking place. We get to recognize our competition if we focus on these queries. This helps in figuring out the best and most relevant keywords that will prove fruitful for the ranking of our web page in search engines.

2. Metadata:
Two decades ago, there was a time when more characters were used for the metadata. And metadata means a set of data that describes and gives information about other data. Now, fewer characters are being used to describe things with the condition of retaining the same meaning.
For example, if in 2000 we had 70 characters to write any tagline. And now, 55 characters or less are considered best practices.

3. Content-length:
The sphere of content length has too changed from 2000 to 2020. Back in 2000, 200-300 words were considered enough for content and were recommendable. But now, these numbers of words are the starting paragraph of any content. Long-form content with 2000 words or more is highly appreciable.
